Blaydon Youth and Community Centre
Blaydon Youth and Community Centre (BYCC) has been serving the local community since 1957, offering a safe, inclusive, and vibrant space where people of all ages can connect, grow, and thrive.
Each year, over 20,000 people engage with BYCC through a wide range of activities that improve health, wellbeing, and opportunity. From affordable childcare and free youth provision to wellbeing programmes and community events, we reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and build resilience.
Based at our Shibdon Road centre since 2014, our modern facilities include a sports hall, community cafe, three multi-purpose rooms, and garden area – supporting everything from preschool and after-school clubs to fitness classes, support groups, and social gatherings.
At BYCC, we believe in building Healthy Hearts and Minds – empowering people of all ages to live well, feel connected, and reach their potential. Whether you’re dropping in for a chat, joining a group, or accessing support, you’ll find a warm welcome and a strong sense of community.
Driven by our dedicated staff and volunteers, BYCC is more than a building. It’s a place of belonging, care, and community spirit – here for everyone.
